● Transportation

　　Yichang occupies an all-reaching communication and transportation network, formed by the Three Gorges international airport, Jiaozhuo-Liuzhou railway, the Yangtze River waterway and Wuhan-Yichang expressway. Yichang-Wanxian railway, Hangzhou-Lanzhou expressway and Shanghai-Chengdu expressway are under construction and meet together in Yichang, which makes Yichang as a pivotal city with most convenient communications in central China.

·Port
Yiling District is close to the famous deepwater port----Yichang harbour, which is a second-class shipping port in China.There are 84 berthes. The port can handle up to 20,000 containers and 620,000 tons of cargo and the berth capacity is 3000 ton at most, as well as 4,500,000 passengers a year, possessing 84 births accessible of 3,000 tons. Yichang has opened routes to dozens of ports along the Changjiang River, providing scheduled voyages.

·Air
There are over 30 fights from Yichang to domestic cities such as Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing and so on. The air routes to foreign countries will be opened soon.

·Railway
Jiaozhou-liuzhou railway and Yichang-Wanxian railway can be capable of annual transportation of 1.1million tons. With 10 trains starting at Yichang each day, Yichang railway station occupies the annual carriage capacity of 1.58million passengers.

·Highway
There are four Yangtze River bridges, two dams, Yichang-Huangshi expressway, Shanghai-Chengdu expressway all passing through Yiling District, Hangzhou-Lanzhou expressway and Xiangfan-Yichang expressway as well as Yichang-Hunan expressway under building will be connected in yiling district.
